Rs20m needed for uplift of Peoples Sports Complex

KARACHI, May 12: The director general of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), Brig. Arif Mahmood Siddiqui, has vowed to get the city’s Peoples Sports Complex vacated from the Rangers in the near future. He made these remarks during a visit to the complex where he was briefed about the facilities by the concerned officials.

The DG PSB was highly impressed after witnessing the football ground, gymnasium, boxing arena and other facilities.

He also spoke to Director General, Rangers, Sindh, on telephone on the occasion and discussed matters pertaining to vacating of the complex.

PSB official said after the Rangers vacate the premises, an amount of about Rs20m would be required for its complete renovation and maintenance to serve as a permanent venue for hosting international competitions in future.
