Father, son shot dead

KHAIRPUR, May 12: Eight armed men killed a man and his son in Badal Shar village, Faiz Ganj taluka, on Wednesday night. The assailants barged into the house of Yousuf Shar and held the inmates hostage at gunpoint. They shot dead Yousuf and his son Ramzan Shar, 16, while another son Razzaq, 10, was injured.

The motive behind the killings was said to be an eight-year old enmity.

The bodies were handed over to the heirs after autopsy.

INJURED: At least 25 passengers were injured in an accident here on Wednesday night.

A Dera Gazi Khan-bound bus (MLL-165) carrying passengers from Karachi overturned near Tando Masti when its tie-rod broken into two.

The injured — Mukhtiar, Nazir, Tanveer Shah, Rana Shahid, Suraiya Begum, Aziza, Maula Bux, Mulazim Hussain and others — were admitted to the Khairpur civil hospital.

The condition of Arshad Rajput was said to be precarious.

RECEPTION: The District Bar Association hosted a reception in honour of three judges of the Sindh High Court, Sukkur Bench.

They include Justice Ghulam Rabbani, Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain.
