Farhan banned

ISLAMABAD: Former Asian junior squash champion Farhan Mahboob has been barred from participating in the PSF Cup which begins in earnest from Thursday in Abbottabad for breaching discipline. A verdict on Farhan’s brawl with coach Rehmat Khan last month is expected to be announced on Thursday, secretary of Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF), Wng-Cdr Zulfiqar Ahmed said.

Having been refused permission to compete in the tournament is indication enough that the verdict is going to go against Farhan.

A disciplinary committee of the PSF that met last week, recorded the statements of both the parties involved. The incident occurred after Rehmat ordered Farhan to do a round of jogging as part of routine training but the player refused to obey. This led to an ugly shouting match and a scuffle.
