KARACHI, May 11: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the District Coordination Officers (DCOs) from all over Sindh and told them to perform their responsibilities with honesty and spirit of service to people. Dr Arbab told the DCOs to take steps for the elimination of corruption from government departments in their respective districts. He asked them to personally monitor the progress of development schemes in their areas and keep a strict watch on the pace and quality of work.

“Corruption is not acceptable to my government, which will take all strict measures to check it,” he declared.

Referring to the forthcoming local bodies elections, he exhorted the DCOs not to come under pressure of any political quarter for favour in establishing polling stations. He said polling stations should be located at appropriate places so that people did not face any problem.

Chief Secretary Fazlur Rehman and other officials also attended the meeting.—APP
