Published May 12, 2005

KARACHI, May 11: About sixty per cent work on K-III Project, to supply 100 million-gallon extra water to the city, has been completed and work is underway for early accomplishment of the remaining task. This was stated by Karachi Water and Sewerage Board’s Managing Director Brig Iftikhar Hyder while talking to engineers and contractors of K-III Project during his inspection visit to the project on Tuesday. Chief Engineer K-III Project Mashkoorul Hasan, Project Manager Misbahuddin Fareed and others were present on the occasion.

Expressing satisfaction over construction work, Brig Iftikhar asked the officials concerned to further expedite the pace of work for its completion within stipulated time and keep vigil on high quality of work.

He said that this project would help in coping with scarcity of water as Karachiites had attached great hopes with it. He said that he would frequently visit the site to inspect construction work of the project.

Later, Brig Iftikhar undertook 10-hour-long visit of various components of the project and issued necessary directives to the officials.—PPI
