NEW DELHI, May 11: A Jaguar fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force on Wednesday crashed in district Basti of Uttar Pradesh soon after takeoff, killing the pilot and injuring three women on the ground. The aircraft crashed near Devri village in the district, minutes after it had left the Gorakhpur air base, killing the pilot, an IAF spokesman said. The aircraft was on a low-level tactical mission, he stated adding, a code of inquiry has been ordered into the crash.—APP
