LARKANA, May 10: The principal of Chandka Medical College, Larkana, Prof Sikandar Ali Shaikh, has constituted a committee to probe into the incident of alleged beating of Ms Shakeeba, an Afghan student of fourth year MBBS by a final year MBBS student from FATA.
Former CMC principal, Prof N.A.Channa would head the committee while Associate Prof, Dr Ghulam Akbar Solangi and Assistant Prof Dr Abdul Hameed Shaikh (paediatrician) would be its members.
Ms Shakeeba had complained to the college administration against the final year student Habibullah from FATA for allegedly misbehaving and thrashing her.
The night watchman also informed the college management about the incident, sources said.
On being contacted, CMC Principal said on Monday night that very recently he had received a complaint of the girl through a courier service.
She had alleged that the boy had misbehaved and thrashed her in the presence of a night watch man at the gate of Noori girls hostel.
The boy was served with a show cause notice and his reply was found unsatisfactory which prompted the college management to form a probe boy.
On Monday, the letters were issued to the chairman and the members of the committee for initiating the proceedings, the principal said.
However, the complainant girl Shakeeba is (presently residing in Quetta) while the student Habibullah had left the college.
