PML-N to call APC on Kashmir

Published May 11, 2005

LAHORE, May 10: The PML-N has decided to call an all-party conference (APC) on Kashmir mainly to disown various options given by President Musharraf for the settlement of the dispute. According to PML-N Chairman Raja Zafarul Haq, India is out to silence the freedom movement in held Kashmir by stepping up killings while rulers in Pakistan are proposing new formulae to resolve the dispute. The options spelled out by the rulers had only added confusion which was not in the national interest, he said.

He said he had discussed the matter with ARD Chairman Amin Fahim and MMA chief Qazi Husain Ahmad.

The conference was likely to be held on May 21. However, he said, the date could be changed in consultation with parties being invited.
