PCB once again fails to meet deadline

By Our Sports Reporter

ISLAMABAD, May 9: The Senate Standing Committee on Sports, due to meet here on Wednesday, is likely to grill the officials of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for not submitting draft of its new constitution by the April 30 deadline. Chairman Shaharyar M. Khan had promised in an earlier meeting that he would ensure the constitution was handed over to the committee before the end of April.

It is now understood that the committee which is headed by Senator Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry is upset over Shaharyar not keeping his promise. The PCB continues to dilly dally over the new constitution and Shaharyar said last week it might another two weeks before it is ready.

The PCB chief and other officials have been asked to attend the meeting which will also seek suggestions from journalists on ways to improve the country’s standard of sports.
