HYDERABAD, May 9: The chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad, has announced that the higher secondary certificate part-I and II (class-XI and XII) annual examination 2005 (science and general groups) will commence from Tuesday (May 17, 2005).
In a statement issued here on Monday, he said about 56,000 candidates would appear at 88 examination centres established in the jurisdiction of board.
Appointment letters to the supervisory staff and internal and external superintendents have been sent.
Timetable and admit cards have been issued and candidates have been advised in their own interest to appear from the centres assigned to them.
The chairman said the staff engaged for the purpose of examination duty would be issued identity cards with photograph and full particulars along with CNIC by the internal superintendent of the centre and only those staff members will be allowed entry who posses identity cards.
He said a monitoring cell would also be established in the committee room of the board to coordinate with various examination centres.
He said if any candidate had not yet received examination slip or had any other problem he and she should contact the board’s authorities from 9am to 6pm.
COTTON OUTPUT TARGET: The Sindh Agriculture Extension Department on Sunday said cotton production target for Sindh has been set at the record level of 3.25 million bales.
A statement issued from the directorate of information, agriculture extension said, cotton production strategy had been chalked out and the department would regularly monitor sowing and crop situation and provide assistance.
It said last year Sindh achieved three million bales target against the fixed target of 2.40 million bales.
It said as a part of awareness campaign mobile film vans (Zarai cinema units) were showing films on improving cotton crop, proper wheat grain storage and sunflower technology.
Two mobile vans have shown films to farmers in villages of Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Dadu and Larkana from April 28 to May 5.
It said as per schedule, crop films would be shown in villages of Nawabshah, Shikarpur, Naushahro Feroze, Jacobabad, Hyderabad, Ghotki, Thatta, Sukkur Badin and Khairpur districts.
The second round of mobile agriculture film will be organized in June, covering other villages.
The agriculture department also launched a campaign through electronic media for creating awareness among farmers about improved production technologies of Kharif crops, particularly cotton.
Massages of good cotton crop practices are being telecast in local language daily through regional TV channel during prime time between 8 to 9 pm.
