KARACHI, May 9: The City Nazim, Niamatullah Khan, laid the foundation stone of city’s unique recreational project ‘Daman-i-Koh’ atop a hill in North Nazimabad, on Sunday night. The 45-acre project, resembling the ‘Daman-i-Koh’ of Islamabad, would be completed in six months.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the nazim announced operating of chairlifts at the Daman-i-Koh.

Besides, a Bara Dari, spread over one acre, would also be constructed in the next three months, he told.

The project contains development of Moon Garden, Italian Garden and Japanese Garden. Over three hundred varieties of roses would be introduced here. The project would also have a lake and a rock garden.

Mr Niamat announced further developmentof the Bagh Ibn-i-Qasim in Clifton over 80-acres and another garden at the Gutter Bagheecha at Manghopir road over 163-acre.

Besides, a model park would be opened next month in North Karachi, he said. — PPI
