KARACHI, May 9: Two ships carrying containers and coal were berthed at QICT and IOCB during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday. Berth occupancy fell below 50 per cent as only four ships, Hotaka Maru, Ulysses-II, Al-Maqwa and Clipper Gem, were busy in loading and unloading containers, diesel oil, fertilizer and coal.

A cargo volume of 48,978 tons comprising 42,994 tons of import cargo and 5,984 tons of export tonnage was handled. Sailing was active as Olympic Pride, Al-Maqwa and Hotaka Maru left the port, while Uljanik was awaiting its berthing turn at the outer anchorage.

Five ships, Pacific Senator, SL-Freedom, Deila, Min Noble and Anette Kosan, carrying containers, iron ore were due to arrive on Monday, while Keefan and Sutra with HSD oil and chemicals were expected to reach on Tuesday.
