NAWABSHAH, May 8: The Deputy Inspector General, Prisons, Sindh, Maj (retd) Ghulam Hussain Khoso, has lodged a formal complaint with senior prison officials against the Nawabshah jails administration for their failure to help the district police in arresting PPP MPA, Ghulam Qadir Chandio.

The Sindh prison official is visiting Nawabshah amid reports that the district jail official had helped Mr Chandio to slip out of the prison premises before arresting him in another case.

The PPP MPA was granted bail by the Sindh High Court, Hyderabad bench.

Reliable sources said that senior prison officials had told the district jail authorities that the MPA was to be re-arrested in another case by the Nawabshah police and a heavy contingent of police, led by the DSP headquarters, was present inside the jail to rearrest the MPA who slipped out when the PPP workers stormed the prison.

The jail administration clarified its position before the DIG by saying that the police were informed about the release of the MPA after which a large number of police including DSP and SHOs were deployed inside and outside the jail premises who failed to get hold of the MPA.
