HYDERABAD: Call for judicial probe into Hala breach

HYDERABAD, May 8: The Sindh Chamber of Agriculture at a meeting held here on Sunday demanded that the government should appoint a senior judge of the Sindh High Court to probe into the breach of the Hala Branch. The meeting, presided over by Syed Qamaruzzaman Shah, alleged that the breach in the branch had developed due to inefficiency of the irrigation department.

It demanded that the irrigation department should pay compensation to farmers who had suffered losses due to the breach.
