HYDERABAD, May 8: The University of Sindh has announced that semester examinations of the university’s fresh and old batches of 2004-2005 will be held from May 11. About 16,000 students of different institutions and departments would take the examinations of bachelor’s and master’s courses.
The examination department will complete the process of issuing admit cards by Monday. According to the department, admit cards of over 60 per cent students have already been sent to respective institutions and departments. It has advised candidates to collect their admit cards from their institutes and departments before the start of the examinations.
The examination department will also establish inquiry counters at various departments and deans of faculties, senior professors will visit examination centres to monitor arrangements.
SEMINAR: The directorate of continuing education, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, on Friday organized a seminar on “Human resource development”.
Meritorious professor of the economics department of the University of Sindh, Dr Mohammad Iqbal Panhwar, presided over the seminar.
Giving a presentation on various aspects of HRD, Dr Panhwar said humanistic values could be promoted and critical organizational analysis conducted through strategic human resources development (SHRD).
TRAINING COURSE: Quaid-i-Awam University of Engineering Science and Technology Vice-Chancellor Dr Anwar Ahmad Junejo has stressed the need for enlarging the scope of research and holding of training courses, seminars and workshops along with imparting formal education.
He was speaking as the president at the concluding session of a three-day training course – food for plants – at the Sindh Agriculture University campus in Tandojam on Friday.
He hoped that trainees would transfer their knowledge to their colleagues as well as farmers.
SAU Vice-Chancellor Dr Bashir Ahmad Shaikh said in view of increase in population and consequent higher food consumption, holding of training courses was necessary for development of agriculture.
He said there was a need for coordination among relevant departments for development of agriculture.
Twenty-seven officers of the agriculture department attended the course jointly organized by the SAU, agriculture extension project and the on-farm management project.
