SWABI, May 7: The uniform of students in government schools will be changed from September.

In December 2004, the Education Reforms Commission constituted by the provincial government had recommended change in uniform of students of up to class XII in government institutions from the current academic session, which begun on April 1, but now the decision will be implemented after summer vacations from Sept 1.

According to a notification issued by the provincial education directorate, the students of primary classes would wear grey qameez and shalwar and not khaki uniform as was earlier decided by the commission. The students of class VI to XII will wear white uniform.

The notification says the colour of cap, jersey and coat will be decided by the institutions themselves. Currently the students of all government schools wear black caps.
