KARACHI, May 7: All Pakistan Mohajir Students Organization (APMSO) on Saturday alleged that a conspiracy had been hatched by Islami Jamiat Talba (IJT) to destroy peace in the city and implicated activists of the IJT in an attack on an APMSO office-bearer. Addressing a news conference at the Karachi Press Club Adnan Sherwani, secretary-general of the APMSO, who was accompanied by MNA Haider Rizvi and Tahir Yusuf that attack on Kashif Ahmad Siddiqui, senior joint-secretary of APMSO was part of that alleged conspiracy.

The said activist was fired upon near Babar Market in the Landhi area after he was returning from a marriage party. He was in intensive care but out of danger.

Mr Sherwani said that IJT’s Jawad, younger brother of the Landhi Town nazim and Tahir Jamal had been nominated in the FIR and the provincial administration and DG Rangers have been asked to pursue and punish the culprits.

He said that the APMSO had maintained calm despite the fact that its five supporters were killed in terrorist attack.

Mr Rizvi alleged that the IJT had snapped communications since that meeting.

Mr Sherwani said that on Friday the MMA staged a protest in the Sindh Assembly and this morning Mr Kashif Siddiqi was attacked.
