KARACHI, May 6: Four ships carrying palm oil and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was active owing to steady arrivals of foreign flag vessels. As a result, seven ships, Lykes Trader, Wester Muehlen, APL Orchid, and Harmony to unload and load containers, Oemana, to offload general cargo, Pescadore Bulker to offload DAP fertilizer and Bonaire to load ethanol were berthed after the departure of as many.

The ships, which departed included Iran Shalamcheh, Argonaut, Iran Kordestan, Jade Trader, Hyundai Highway, Y.M. Sun and Sagamore, while Lykes Trader, Harmony, Eax Sanctity, Wester Muehlen, Thor Captain and Tyhi are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 81,293 tons comprising 13,636 tons of export cargo including 3,960 tons of rice and 67,657 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Bow Cheetah, with 12,000 tons of palm oil, Orient Prosperity, and Global Princess, with containers and Sinhtan, with general cargo.
