Blair wins: exit poll

LONDON, May 5: Prime Minister Tony Blair’s Labour Party has won a historic third term in Thursday’s British election but with a much-reduced majority, an exit poll produced jointly by the BBC and ITV indicated. Labour’s absolute majority in the lower House of Commons will be 66 seats, well down on the 167-seat figure from the last general election in 2001, the poll showed.—AFP
