Two cops killed in encounter

HYDERABAD, May 5: Two policemen were killed by armed men in an encounter in the Hatri police area on Wednesday night. The encounter took place in the Buffalo Colony when the two policemen, Imdad Khaskheli and Noor Mohammad Soho, who were on a motorcycle, were fired upon by around half a dozen gunmen.

The encounter lasted for about 20 minutes.

Constable Soho died on the spot while Khaskheli was taken to the Hyderabad Civil Hospital where he was operated upon and given more than 20 bottles of blood to stabilise his condition.

He breathed his last on Thursday morning. The area had been cordoned and a search was being conducted.
