By Our Correspondent

JACOBABAD, May 4: On the call of Shehri Ittehad, a complete strike was observed here on Wednesday to protest against supply of contaminated water and spread of gastroenteritis in Jacobabad. A big rally was taken out, which was led by president of the Ittehad, Muhammad Akram Abro.

The rally started from Abro House and, after passing through different roads of the town including Shahi Bazar, Sarafa Bazar, Bhittai Bazar, Quaid-e-Azam road, staged a sit-in at the national highway for one hour.

A large number of political activists and citizens participated in the rally.

Speaking on the occasion, Akram Abro, Ahmed Ali Brohi, Nadeem Qureshi and others condemned the criminal silence of the taluka municipal administration on the outbreak of gastroenteritis and said that hundreds of people were affected and were hospitalised.

They said that due to non-availability of clean drinking water, gastroenteritis had spread.

They demanded early completion of the water supply schemes.

ADVISER: Provincial adviser for health, Faisal Malik Gabol, has said that taluka municipal administration, Jacobabad, was responsible for the spread of gastroenteritis.
