HYDERABAD, May 4: Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party chairman Dr Qadir Magsi has termed the parliamentary committee’s recommendations for Balochistan an eyewash. In a statement issued here on Tuesday, he said the recommendations made by the committee at a meeting in absence of Baloch nationalist leaders were meaningless.

He observed that problems of the provinces could not be resolved till they were given autonomy. He said all departments, except for foreign affairs, defence and currency, should be transferred to the provinces. He said the federating units should be given their rights.

The STPP chief claimed that under the constitution, mineral resources were the property of the provinces.

Opposing opening of the Khokhrapar route, he alleged that it was a conspiracy to destroy Sindh economically and culturally.

HUNGER STRIKE: Activists of the Bhitshah Declaration and the Sindh NGOs Federation held a protest demonstration and observed a hunger strike outside the press club here on Wednesday against registration of what they called a false case against MPA Ghulam Qadir Chandio.
