PHF to focus on regions

KARACHI, May 2: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) would now shift its emphasis from departments to regions and promote Inter-school, Inter-college, Inter-district and Inter-provincial championships to hunt talent as well as forge healthy competition, says PHF president Tariq Kirmani. Mr Kirmani pointed out as he chaired a meeting of the newly-formed Advisory Board on Monday, “The board will be a forum from where the members will contribute in a positive manner towards improving the standard of the game and help remove constraints.”

He briefed the members about the federation’s “Vision and Mission” and said “whether it is a commercial organization or an entity like PHF, we cannot go far without specific (goals).” He said that players from both the departments and the regions would be selected to the national squad.—APP
