KARACHI: 2,100kg hashish seized


KARACHI, May 1: Police seized 2,100kg hashish from an oil tanker in Shireen Jinnah Colony on Sunday. Police said that the contraband was concealed in 105 bundles, recovered from an oil tanker which was intercepted by a police party on a tip at Khyaban-i-Sahil near Shireen Jinnah Colony.

Three suspects identified as Taj Muhammad alias Kamran, Wakil Khan and Bakht were arrested and the vehicle (MNG-3788) was impounded. A fourth accomplice identified as Ziarat Gul evaded arrest.

The narcotics were brought into Pakistan from Afghanistan via Balochistan and the consignment was to be smuggled to western countries, police said.
