KARACHI: Transfer of HBL staff resented

By Our Reporter

Karachi, May 1: Sindh PPP chief Syed Qaim Ali Shah has condemned the transfer of 600 lower-grade officers of Habib Bank from Sindh to far-flung areas, and asked bank’s management to reverse the decision “before people took to streets against the victimization.”

In a press statement, Mr Shah pointed out that about one month back, the management had pledged that it would not force workers to accept golden hand-shake. However, he added, the transfers on a mass scale of the employees from different branches in Sindh to those in other provinces proved that they were being compelled to quit the organization.

He said PPP would raise the issue in assemblies and senate.
