LAHORE, April 30: Aadil Jehangir scored a fine card of two-under-par-70 to take the lead from Vaqas Ahmed on the second day of the 28th Punjab amateur golf championship at the Lahore Gymkhana course on Saturday. Aadil, who was in second place on Friday, pushed Vaqas behind, with an aggregate of four-under-par-144. He had five birdies on holes No 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 11th and the 18th while losing strokes on the 4th, 8th and 13th.
Following him seven strokes back, was Omer Salamat who had an excellent round of one-over-par-73 with thee birdies on holes No 3rd, 7th and the 15th while he bogeyed at the 2nd, 9th, 12th and the 18th.
Vaqas entered a bad card of eight-over-80 to trail at the third spot.
In the net competition, Aadil, is also leading with aggregate of 134. At 135, Sheharyar Salamat was at the second position followed by Tariq Mahmood who was at the third with 136.
Amer Mahmood hit the shot of the tournament when he had hole-in-one on the 5th hole 152 yards par 3.
Jamila Jabbar won the gross event of the ladies while Mrs Asma Shami was the runner-up. In the net, Mrs Nasreen Zubair was the winner while Mrs Mehreen Raheel remained second.
