SRINAGAR, April 30: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has emphasized the need for peaceful solution of the Kashmir dispute. According to the Kashmir Media Service, Syed Ali Gilani, the chairman of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, said that Kashmiris were struggling for their basic right of self-determination.
Addressing a gathering in Islamabad town on Saturday, he urged the world community to play its role in resolving the issue in line with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.
Senior APHC leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq described as encouraging the stand of Indian and Pakistani leaders over Kashmir following recent meeting between President Pervez Musharraf and PM Manmohan Singh.
Addressing a religious congregation at Jamia Masjid Srinagar, Mirwaiz said that the initiation of composite dialogue process between the two countries and latest statements by the two leaders were “encouraging”.
He said these developments were welcomed by prominent political parties of the subcontinent and outside leaders. They had also stressed the need for resolving all issues, particularly the Kashmir issue, through a continued dialogue process.—APP
