DIG Sajjad Ahmed said that a Lundianwala police team raided a hideout to arrest some proclaimed offenders. Getting wind of police arrival, he said the two outlaws opened indiscriminate fire on law enforcers. The police also returned the fire and used teargas shells to force the gangsters to leave the hideout.

The raiding party called more police contingents which rushed to the spot under the command of DPO Muhammad Amin Wains. The police encircled the hideout and traded firing for about a couple of hours. After the shootout, the police found two men dead in the house. The dead were later identified as Akram alias Akro and Saif alias Saifi. Police also recovered a Kalashnikov, a gun and hundreds of bullets from the spot.

The DIG claimed that both the outlaws were POs and involved in over 100 incidents of heinous crimes. He said that they had become a terror for the people of Jaranwala, Lundianwala, Satiana and other areas. They were wanted by the police of Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Sheikhupura, Hafizabad, Sahiwal and other districts.

The DIG and the DPO announced cash awards and commendation certificates for the police party.
