By Our Correspondent

KOHAT, April 30: A police inspector was killed and two other persons were seriously injured in an accident involving three vehicles that took place on the Indus Highway in the Darra Adamkhel area on Saturday.

Inspector Afrasyab of Bannu district was going to Peshawar with his companions in a car (Z-1352). After colliding with a coaster (K-9526) coming from opposite direction, the car was overrun by a truck.

The inspector and others were injured and taken to Peshawar in a critical condition, where he died. Names of those injured could not be immediately ascertained.

Meanwhile, decomposed body of a forest department watchman was recovered from a canal on the Mills Road by the police squad called ‘Rescue 15’.

The in-charge of the squad, Mohammad Ibrahim, informed journalists that after recovering the body, they took it to the Liaquat Memorial Hospital and called two women who had reported that their brother had gone missing four days ago.

The women identified the deceased as their disabled brother Asif, 24, resident of the Garden Colony.

Till the filing of this report, the Saddar police were awaiting an autopsy report of the body after the receipt of which they would lodge an FIR, if needed.
