By Our Staff Reporter

RAWALPINDI, April 30: Three people were killed in separate incidents in Rawalpindi, police said on Saturday.

In the first incident, a woman and her son were shot dead by their rivals in Kahuta.

Raja Faizullah told Kahuta police that Sajid, Altaf, Mohammad Waris, Faisal and Mubarak attacked his house and opened fire on the inmates. He said the accused fired at his daughter-in-law Shaheen and grandson Zahid when they tried to save him. The woman died on the spot while her son Zahid was shifted to a local hospital where he died.

According to the police, the motive behind the double murder was a dispute over voting in local bodies elections.

The complainant had alleged that the accused had planned the crime with the abetment of Union Council Nazim Mohammad Bashir.

Meanwhile, a cyclist was killed after being run over by a van (IDN-5287) in the jurisdiction of R.A. Bazaar police.

VEHICLES STOLEN: Four robbers snatched a car (IDS-303) from its driver Mohammad Hanif at gunpoint from Satellite Town and fled away.
