KARACHI, April 29: Two vessels carrying containers and general cargo were berthed at QICT and Marginal Wharf during the last 24 hours, according to a PQA press release on Friday. Meanwhile, four more vessels carrying containers, diesel oil and iron ore also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy was stood at 45 per cent as four vessels, Oranje, Mexico, Fu Yuan and Gertrud Salmon, were busy in loading and offloading containers, general cargo and iron ore.

Cargo handling activity was slow as a total tonnage of 26,847 tons comprising 22,716 tons of import and 4,131 tons of export cargo was handled.

Sailing was active as Oranje left the port while Mexico was due to depart. Five ships, Norasia Everest, Saudi Hafuf, Frontier Express, Ionion Eagle and Great Well, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
