Shahid Nazir rips through Bears batting
LAHORE, April 27: Shahid Nazir produced a devastating spell of seam bowling as Faisalabad Wolves romped to a nine-wicket victory over Quetta Bears in the Pool ‘C’ Twenty20 Cup match at the Qadhafi Stadium on Tuesday night. Shahid bowled economically to take four for 11 in 3.3 overs as the Bears were bundled out for 95 in 18.3 overs.
Jalat Khan top-scored for the Bears with 35 off 29 deliveries with the help of three fours and one six.
The Wolves lost opener Mohammad Salman for a duck, but scored at will to reach their target in mere 7.4 overs. Mohammad Hafeez punished the hapless Bears’ bowlers with a series of brilliant strokes to score an unbeaten 49 off 22 balls.
Hafeez, the Pakistan batsman, hammered with six fours and a brace of sixes. Asif Hussain (31 off 28 balls with five fours) was involved in an unbroken second wicket partnership of 93.
