KARACHI, April 27: Five ships carrying containers and general cargo are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was brisk where seven vessels, Bow de Feng, to unload enzymes, Sports Queen to offload steel, Adhidaya to unload tallow, Ju Bao Men to unload logs, APL Pusan, Oranje, and Sinar Bontang to offload and load containers were berthed.

Sailing on the other hand was modest as three vessels, Global Prince, Labbadi and Bow de Feng departed, while Sport Queen, APL Pusan, Eny, Orient Prosperity, Global Princess, Thor Captain, Sagamore, Canmar Success, Adhidaya, Hyundai Sprinter, and Asian Trader are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity showed a sizable expansion as the total tonnage rose to 88,819 tons comprising 18,624 tons of export cargo including 1,249 tons of rice and 2,218 tons of cement and 70,195 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Joviallty, with steel and general cargo, Y.M. Faha, Golden Express, Corin Thakios and PONL Mahe, with containers.
