Rs106m approved for CEPT

ISLAMABAD, April 27: The Board of Administrators of Export Development Fund (EDF) on Tuesday approved Rs106 million for completion of the Combined Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) for Korangi tanneries. The meeting was chaired by Commerce Minister Humayun Akhtar Khan here on Tuesday. An official announcement said that Rs228 million had already been contributed from the EDF for this project.

The board also approved Rs105 million funding for establishment of Garment City in Lahore; Rs27.5 million for Pakistan Tobacco Board to upgrade its research and development laboratories; and Rs28 million for establishment of Cotton Ginning Research & Training Institute at Multan.

It was also decided that a corporate entity would be formed for the management of the cotton ginning institute.
