KARACHI, April 21: Marble industries in Karachi are facing problems due to frequent power outage owing to low capacity of transformer of 250 kv supplied by the KESC at the Qasba Metroville Scheme, Main Mangopir Road against the sanctioned load of 635 kv. Power supply is frequently tripped off, thus creating problems for the industries which are suffering losses and some exporters are finding difficult in meeting their timely export shipment.
Chairman All Pakistan Marble Industries Association (APMIA), Sanaullah Khan has asked the KESC’s managing director to replace the transformer with 500 kv or install additional transformer of 250 kv.
KCCI: Chairman Public Sectors Utilities, Power and Gas Sub Committee of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Imran Saeed Baghpati said that load-shedding and inflated utility bills issued by the KESC are devastating or the business community. Unannounced load-shedding is being done to save furnace oil, he said in a statement.
He stressed the need that the management of the KESC should be handed over to new buyers without any further delay to save the consumers from malevolence practice of the department.
He said that neutral audit of output of furnace oil should be done.
