KARACHI: Arbab issues instructions on over 200 summaries

KARACHI, April 17: Sindh Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim on Sunday issued instructions on more than 200 summaries relating to various departments. According to an announcement of the Chief Minister’s House, these summaries were pending for a long time and had been moved during previous governments.

The chief minister asked the officials concerned to dispose of these summaries on priority basis and warned that no negligence would be tolerated in this regard. He said that strict departmental action would be taken against unnecessary delay in the disposal of these summaries.

One of these summaries was related to upgradation of the posts of director physical education and librarian in provincial education department.

After approval of the summary, which had been pending since 2002, one post of director physical education has become available in grade 19, while 58 posts have been created in grade 18, 114 posts in grade 17 and nine posts in grade 16.

Besides, nine posts of librarian have been created in grade 19, 64 posts in grade 18 and 94 posts in grade 17.

Arbab Rahim said that the government was desirous to improve standard of education in the province. He said the problems of education department would be solved on priority basis to encourage them to fulfil their duties with dedication and commitment.

The chief minister further said that he wanted to discourage the officials who were deliberately delaying action on summaries. "We will check this trend and set examples of good governance in the province," he noted. — APP
