KARACHI, April 14: A delegation consisting of small and medium enterprises from Germany will visit Pakistan in October this year. This was informed by German parliamentarian Klaus-Werner Jonas in a meeting with Industries and Production Minister Jehangir Khan Tareen, who is visiting the Hannover Fair 2005 these days, says a message received here on Thursday.
Mr Tareen discussed with Mr Jonas business opportunities emerging after Pakistan’s large-scale participation at the Hannover Fair, promising to come again with a larger group of exhibitors next year.
The message said that Mr Tareen had taken a strategic step forward in the German industrial markets by making inroads in German states of Bavaria and Niedersachen.
It further pointed out that in a high-level ministerial meeting with Dr Otto Wiesheu, Minister for Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology, State of Bavaria, it was agreed that an engineering group from Pakistan would assemble again in Bavaria in September to explore technical and business collaboration with local companies. The Bavarian minister has invited Pakistani companies to visit the state.
Mr Tareen also met Walter Hirche, Minister for Economics, Labour and Transport, State of Niedersachen, and discussed possibilities of speeding up enterprise development in Pakistan, opening of industrial sectors for investments.—APP
