French investors due next week

ISLAMABAD, April 8: French Ambassador Pierre Charasse on Friday called on Health Minister Mohammad Nasir Khan and discussed prospects and possibilities of cooperation between the two countries in health sector.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest and enhanced cooperation between France and Pakistan.

The ambassador told the minister that a high-powered delegation of French investors was arriving in Pakistan next week to explore prospects of investments in different sectors including health.

He said French investors were keen to invest in pharmaceutical industry, adding that the French government was also interested in providing technical assistance to Pakistan by training health professional in hospital management.

On the occasion, Nasir Khan said Pakistan was a heaven for foreign investment and the government would welcome French investment in the pharmaceutical industry.

“The government wants to strengthen the pharmaceutical base in the country and

investment in this sector would be highly appreciated,” he added.
