KARACHI: Aalmi mushaira tonight

KARACHI, April 8: An aalmi mushaira will be held at the National Stadium on Saturday night at 10pm, says a press release.

The press release says that a 70 ft screen has been prepared for the mushaira carrying a picture of the Quaid-i-Azam. The Sindh Governor, Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan, will be the chief guest.

“Seating arrangements have been made for around 20,000 visitors, while the dimensions of the stage are 70 ft by 40 ft. Couplets by 50 poets of Karachi have been put up all around the stage,” it says.

At least 13 poets have been invited from India, and nine from elsewhere around the world including Canada, the USA, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, etc.

Prominent among those arriving from India are Baikal Atsahi, Rahat Indori, Saghar Khayami, Adil Lakhnavi, Manzar Bhopali, Rovinder Jain, Mumtaz Nasim, Saman Dobe, Reehana Nawab, Khushbir Singh, Afzal Manglori, Parvez Roshan and Nadeem Siddiqi.
