PTCL outplay Islamabad

KARACHI, April 7: PTCL overpowered Islamabad 5-4 to reach All-Pakistan PTCL floodlight football quarterfinals at Dring Stadium, Bahawalpur on Wednesday night.

According to details available here, PTCL got off to a flying start slamming home through Mohammad Ejaz who cashed in on a pass from Burhan Ali in the 23rd minute.

Ismail Baba netted his first to make it 2-0 five minutes later. Nasarullah grabbed the third after being set up by Sibghatullah in the 35th minute, while Ismail got his double when Arif Masih fed him a neat pass in the 51st minute.

Islamabad fought back and reduced the margin through Mohammad Imran in the 61st minute and then scored their second when Kamran came into action off a Mohammad Sami pass in the 70th minute.

Waseem was on target eight minutes later following an Imran pass before Burhan scored the fifth for PTCL off a free kick in the 81st minute.

Still breathing down PTCL’s neck, Islamabad got their fourth through Kashif off a Shafqat pass in the 85th minute but failed to score further.
