FAISALABAD, April 7: Scores of federal government employees have expressed their grave concern over the decision of the health ministry to shift the only dispensary to Lahore. In a statement here on Thursday, they said the only central government dispensary had been set up in Faisalabad in January 2004 with a view to providing medical facilities to employees of about 30 federal institutions.

They said the step had been hailed by all federal government employees. Now the decision of the Directorate of Central Health Establishment, Karachi, to shift the dispensary from Faisalabad to Lahore had disturbed the government employees and their families, they added.

The employees claimed that a number of such dispensaries were already working in Lahore.

They urged the president and the prime minister to look into the matter.

seminar: A pre-budget seminar will be held here under the aegis of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Saturday (tomorrow).

Financial experts, trade leaders, representatives of different bodies and stakeholders will highlight their problems and present proposals on the textile industry, import policy, taxation measures, export problems, custom and dry port issues, law and order, WTO agreement and trade policy.

Federal Industries Minister Jehangir Khan Tareen, Federal Textile Industry Minister Mushtaq Ali Cheema and Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance Dr Salman Shah will also speak on the occasion.
