KARACHI, April 7: The Chief Secretary, Mohammad Aslam Sanjrani, on Thursday exhorted section officers of the Sindh Secretariat to show greater interest in bringing improvement in the working environment. Addressing the section officers, the chief secretary referred to a letter from the Sindh Senior Minister, Syed Sardar Ahmed, who had visited all buildings of the Sindh Secretariat this week. He had suggested evolvement of a working environment for section officers and their support staff.
Appreciating the performance of staff at the Sindh Secretariat, he described it one of the best provincial secretariats in the country. However, he noted that an upgraded environment would be in the greater interest of people there.
He stressed the need for developing a congenial environment including maintaining cleanliness on office premises and a pleasant appearance of officials.
He also emphasised the need for skill development on the part of section officers and their support staff.
Section officers, on the occasion, brought various issues to the notice of the chief secretary, and proposed ways and means for on-job training, housing society for the secretariat employees, maintenance of record rooms in all departments, etc.
The chief secretary issued instructions for revival of the record room and its maintenance.
Provincial Secretaries GA&C Aijaz Hussain Kazi and Liaquat Ali Arian were also present there. — APP
