KARACHI, April 6: Two container vessels arrived at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours, said PQA press release on Wednesday. Meanwhile, berthing activity was slow as only one ship was berthed. Six ships, Maersk Alaska, Multan, Gold Carrier, Gulf Grace, Lady Jasmine and SD Glory, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, diesel oil, chemicals and coal.A cargo volume of 39,334 tons comprising 27,050 tons of import cargo and 12,284 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was brisk as Maersk Alaska, Gulf Grace and Anette Kosan left the port while Multan was due to depart.

Two ships, P&O Nedlloyd Cobra and Oranje, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.

A container ship, Aurora, was due to arrive on Wednesday while China Star, Hammurabi, Rasa-M and Wadi Al-Halfa were expected to reach on Thursday.
