“Exposure and experience in Pakistan condition certainly helped the boys. They have gained valuable experience during their short trip,” he said.

He expressed the hope that if some of the boys maintained their hard work and dedication they will definitely represent their country in the next few years.

de Silva, who played four Tests for his country as a wicket-keeper batsman, said he was particularly impressed with the left handed opener Nasir Jamashed of Pakistan. “He got good temperament and technique and had the potential to go places” he pointed out.

The Sri Lankan official appreciated perfect playing conditions all over the place where they played and complimented Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for excellent arrangements for the tour.

Sri Lankan official said Pakistan boys showed fighting qualities in both the Tests and specially they came well from behind to earn a draw in the first Test.—APP
