KARACHI: KBCA told to heed nazim

Published April 1, 2005
KARACHI, March 31: The Nazim of Liaquatabad Town, Dr Pervaiz Mehmood, has suggested the KBCA to immediately halt its operation against illegally constructed buildings as the date for regularising illegally constructed buildings had not yet expired.

In a letter to the chief controller of buildings, a copy of which was also sent to the city nazim, the town nazim deplored that though he had earlier requested the KBCA not to carry out demolition/sealing, the authority was still carrying out actions in the Liaquatabad Town.

He took a serious notice of the KBCA?s demolition and sealing operation.

DATE EXTENDED: The City Nazim, Niamatullah Khan, has extended the date for regularising illegally constructed buildings for another one month i.e. till April 30.

The nazim, who is also chief executive of the Karachi Building Control Authority, on Thursday, issued a notification in exercise of powers under the Sindh Building Control Ordinance 1979.
