CHRISTCHURCH, March 30: Sri Lanka’s preparations for the Test series against New Zealand were wrecked on Wednesday when rain washed out the final day without a ball being bowled against a Major Associations XI.
The second day at the Village Green was also wiped out. The home team made 321 on Monday.
The three-day match was Sri Lanka’s only warm-up before the first Test, starting on April 4 at Napier. The second and final Test begins in Wellington a week later.—Reuters
