Shakeel elected DCA president

HYDERABAD, March 30: Shakeel Ahmed Qureshi, Faisal Hameed Siddiqui and Asghar Ali Ghouri were elected as president, secretary and treasurer of the District Cricket Association (DCA) Hyderabad for the next two years after the elections were held on Wednesday under the supervision of Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB).

A total of 31 presidents of recognised cricket clubs of Hyderabad took part in the elections. Out of 31 polled votes, Shakeel secured 20 votes while his opponent Hamid Nasir bagged 11 votes.

Faisal clinched 21 votes for the post of secretary and his opponent Muhammed Haroon Arain polled 10 votes. Asghar claimed 20 votes for the post of treasurer against his Usman Leghari’s 11.

Shakeel while speaking on the occasion assured to promote cricket at grass root level both in urban and rural parts of the district.

He also appealed to the defeated panel to extend its cooperation in this task so that talented cricketers of Hyderabad could be brought forward for national and international level cricket.—APP
