DADU, March 30: Three teachers, who have been on a hunger strike for 30 days, called off their protest yesterday. The teachers, Shabbir Ahmed Magsi, Rafiq Ahmed Zour and Amanullah Hingoro, called off the strike when DCO Alamuddin Bullo informed them that the Sindh education minister had relaxed ban on the appointment of teachers on the deceased quota. The DCO also showed them a copy of the order that allowed fresh appointments on the deceased quota. Talking to journalists, he, however, said that the teachers would not be paid salary of the last eight months since 58 teachers would be appointed afresh.
