HYDERABAD, March 30: The Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz has alleged that its leaders and activists are being tortured in the Hyderabad Central Jail.

Relatives of imprisoned activists, belonging to the JSMM, told a news conference at the press club here on Tuesday that some of the detainees were in critical condition but they were locked up in band wards and no medical treatment was being provided to them.

They alleged that JSMM prisoners Syed Asghar Ali Shah, Sikandar Soomro, Mazhar Ali Bhatti, Imran Lashari, Sanaullah Bhatti and others were being subjected to inhuman atrocities and their relatives were not being allowed to meet them.

They appealed to human rights organizations to visit the jail to observe the condition of prisoners. Those who spoke at the news conference included Jaleel Ahmad Shah, Ajaz Soomro, Anwar Ali Bhatti, Maran Leghari, Abdul Qayoom Bhatti and Sarfaraz Janwari.

SNP: Activists of the Sindh National Party on Tuesday staged a demonstration outside the press club in protest against alleged murderous attack on a central party leader, Naseer Shah in Golarchi allegedly by UC Nazim Malik Akhtar Awan.

Speaking on the occasion, Wahid Sangrasi demanded that the assailants be arrested immediately.
