KARACHI, March 28: Teaching and non-teaching staff and students at the Dawood College of Engineering and Technology (DCET) have urged the government to ensure security of academicians.
Speaking at two different meetings held in memory of the late principal of DCET, Dr Mohammad Salim Choudhry, who was killed by unknown gunmen on Friday.
The meetings condemned the brutal incident and observed that government should take measures to stop occurrences of such heinous crimes in future.
The meetings were presided over by the acting principal of the college, Prof Hyder Ali Khan. The teachers vowed that they would work as a team to continue the mission of the late principal aimed at improving the academic standard of the college.
When contacted, Prof Hyder Ali Khan said that teaching was partially suspended for the condolence meetings on Monday but from Tuesday onwards activities would be resumed.
